Nagpur camp

Camps, camps everywhere.

After the great drama and disaster at Tonk, Nagpur was a lot, lot better. We got a chance to interact with senior artists, like Suhas Babulkar and Murli Lahoti. Attendance was lower than at most other camps I’ve been to, but the students who showed up were had strong work, so it was all good I’d say. And I was not aware that the Fine Arts college at Nagpur had such a strong showing. Workshop was also attended by students from Chattisgarh, Delhi, Kurukchhetra, Sangli and a few other places.

Also, attended the South Central Art Exhibition. Wasn’t overtly impressed by the entries in the Painting Category, but certainly a lot of great work up on the Graphics side, including a wide variety of mediums. I’m not doing any prints this year in class, at least not officially. But after the exhibition I sure as hell wanted to do some.

Note to self: Must participate in South Central next year.
